Senate committee meets on redistricting

An Illinois Senate committee will be talking about how the state should tackle redistricting.

The Legislature is responsible for drawing political maps for both legislative and congressional districts. It's done every decade after the U.S. Census.

The state Senate's Redistricting Committee meets Wednesday in Chicago after an earlier delay.

The committee's initial meeting was postponed from earlier this month because lawmakers were working to pass a budget to keep state government running.
