Title

Orange County residents need to apply for citizen redistricting panel

Redistricting is the most important reform passed in California since Proposition 13 and Orange County should have a big stake in the redrawing of political lines. But as of now applications submitted from the OC for the 14 person redistricting committee are far less than one would expect. More liberal counties like Los Angeles have seen larger numbers of submitted applications while Orange County residents have submitted far less. Applying for the posts is fairly easy. Just go to www.wedrawthelines.ca.gov and put your name in. It is important the new redistricting panel has diverse representation from throughout the state, and it’s critical that Orange County voters are well represented in the applicant pool.
