PASADENA - Canvassers from the U.S. Census Bureau began going door-to-door this weekend to ensure an accurate count of the nation's population. About 72 percent of households in the country have already mailed back their census forms, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Homes at approximately 48 million addresses that didn't will be visited by canvassers in an operation that will stretch into July. Census workers may make up to six trips to the same location in order to gather the appropriate data, according to Census officials. Officials have stressed that the canvassers will not ask for personal information, such as social security numbers or banking information.
