WAUKESHA – With U.S. Census Bureau workers beginning to collect information by going door-to-door, the Better Business Bureau is warning people to be on the lookout for scammers.

According to a BBB news release, Census workers will ask: the number of people living at the residence; any additional people who may be living there as of April 1; whether the residence is owned or rented; telephone number; name; sex; age and date of birth; whether a resident is of Hispanic origin; race; and whether the person there sometimes lives somewhere else.

Census workers will not ask any other questions and will carry official government badges to identify them and may also carry an official bag. For more information, visit www.2010census.gov.
