2006 General Election

Subject: New "VOTE" registration data files were posted for the 2006 general election in
order to rectify the following data problems that were discovered in the previous set of
ss precinct files.
(1.) The San Bernardino, Orange, and Lassen county files were missing data.
(2.) The Los Angeles county data was missing. The data posted in the Los Angles county
file was actually the file for Lassen county data.

of these counties contain only vote-by-mail precincts which means that neither of these
counties has polling places and that voting by mail is mandatory in these counties.

i.e. the "SOV" dbf files for the counties of Contra Costa, Madera , Marin and Yolo

counties 007, 035, 039, 040, 041, 053 and 057 have been processed and
are now available.

Subject: The following problems/ files have been corrected.
1.) 029 (Kern) registration data file "REG" had only 26 rows of observations.
The file was not for Kern. The effected file is named,
c029_s05_registration_by_s05_ssprec.dbf.
2.) 059 ( Orange ) statement of vote data file "SOV" was empty.
The effected file is named, c059_s05_sov_data_by_s05_ssprec.dbf .
3.) 059 ( Orange ) registration data file "REG" had a total registration
that was incorrect according to the official figure from Orange
County Registrar, the total reg=1,491,009
while the swdb file had a total registration of 600,081.
The effected file is named, c059_s05_registration_by_s05_ssprec.dbf.
4.) 111 ( Ventura ) registration data file "REG" had a total registration
number that was incorrect. The effected file is named,
c111_s05_registration_by_s05_ssprec.dbf.
